February 2025 'Impossible'

We had impossible geometry, impossible stunts, overthinking, a creepy kid, a 13 year old's diary, buddhism, Traitors, Mafiosa Dog Judio, staring, and a Liverpool love story.

Louis cheated death attempting the impossible. Escaping from a chained up straight jacket while doing a tricycle jump over the dearest thing to an animator , The Animators Survival Kit. He achieved none of this and fell of the stage in the process. Impossible.

Moth Studio's founders, Margaux and Dan, did a deep dive into their film for Monument Valley III. The hit indie game is known for its mediative ‘felt’ narrative, beautiful art direction and MC Escher-like impossible geometry puzzles. Commissioned by Ustwo games & Netflix, Moth developed these characteristics into a cinematic, intimate story.

Animation legend Chris Shepherd was also with us! We showed a selection of his most iconic films, and we were treated to reading of hids debut graphic novel, Anfield Road.

We finished off the first half with a rapid fire Stare Out competition in honour of Chris' Stare Out Champtionship animations for the sketch show Big Train.

Thanks to Poonam Maher, Max Priddy, Vontesse Betson, Jake Gardner and Jessica Fisher for their help running the event. Thanks to Second Home Studios  and Yamination for the continued sponsorship.
